YOUR PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION
We don’t really collect and keep any information that you don’t provide. The reason we need your personal information is for contacting you. You can voluntarily provide your information when you fill out a contact form, or when you sign up to receive an email newsletter. And, as you will read below, you can remove yourself from our records at any time, or ask us to.
You are always free to visit our sites at anytime anonymously.
NON-PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION
Non-personal identification information is collected from Users to help us make our sites better. We can view stats like how many visitors we’ve had, which pages were viewed, which links were clicked and what outside website led someone to our site by using analytics software like Google Analytics or Squarespace Analytics.
WEB BROWSER COOKIES
Our sites may use “cookies” to enhance your User experience. The information collected can include the name of the domain and host from which you access the Internet, your IP address, your browser, software operating system, web log data (including the date and time you access this site), pages you visit, what you do during your visit, and what searches you performed.
We (via Mailchimp) use open tracking in our emails. When we send emails newsletters, Mailchimp tracks behaviors such as how many people opened the emails and how many links were clicked. This all helps us measure success and relevance for our efforts.
HOW WE USE COLLECTED INFORMATION
We collect your information that you voluntarily provide. When you put in your information through a contact form and/or a email newsletter sign up, you are voluntarily giving us your information. We use information given to provide what you requested. We will email you to answer messages submitted through our contact form, and we will send periodic email newsletters to those who sign up.
SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We don’t share your information. However, we do use third-party providers to help my website function. Those providers sometimes are our means for collecting information, and so they technically are “sharing” it with us. Currently, those providers are:
Just so you know, when you post comments to our sites, your posts may be viewed by all users and may be publicly distributed outside the site in perpetuity (a great legal word that we love using). In other words, other people could copy/paste/screenshot what you said, quote you, make a meme…it will be part of cyberspace for all eternity. We really love your comments!
We said this before, but if you skipped to this heading for info about newsletters specifically, here goes: We regularly send out an email newsletter. It’s our hope that it will be useful to you. Our purpose is to be of value for the community. We hope you will sign up. We also hope you will forward it to friends. If they want on the list, they will have to sign up and agree to have us send it to them in the future. Everyone has to give permission to send them stuff. Here’s the great part…our email software provider, Mailchimp, makes it super easy for you to change or delete your information at any time. You can unsubscribe to our emails. The link will be in every email.
THIRD PARTY WEBSITES
It’s also possible that they might have changed the information on the page we link to. If you find that happened, we would love for you to let us know so we can update the link.

HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA
We retain information such as comments, comment form submissions, and newsletter form submissions, indefinitely. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely.
