Be The Girl Who Cheers On Others | By: Betsy Liechty

Who’s your biggest cheerleader? Maybe it’s a spouse, mom, dad, grandparent, or a friend. I will say without a doubt its definitely my husband. He is always yelling from the sidelines of life lines like… “keep going”, “Don’t quit”, “tomorrow you will do better” well you get the picture. It truly builds me up every time I need it. Truth is we all need someone to cheer us on or what the Bible calls; build us up!

Be The Girl Who Speaks Life | By: Janell Wood

This past autumn, I went to a one-day writing conference. It had been a couple months since I had started getting serious about my writing journey and to be honest, I felt a little lost in the process. While taking down notes, I silently prayed God would direct me through someone’s words. A few hours later, I was standing in line buying some books, and a woman stopped me.

Episode 4: Be The Girl Who Speaks Life

This can definitely be hard at times. Speaking life is not just something that is “good”, but necessary as followers of Christ. The tongue has the power to speak life and to speak death. On this episode we talk about how this has effected our own lives, what The Bible says, and encouraging you all in your own walks!

We hope this episode encourages you to speak life with everything that you have, and let Jesus speak life into your heart and mind as you carry this out in love.

The Way, The Truth, and The Life | Bridgette Rose

Everyone has a truth they live by. Some live by the saying “judge not”. Others live by being a “generally good person”. Some are environmentalists, and some humanitarians. Some live for their work and seek to be “true to their craft”. Some strive to be knowledgeable in all things - to pursue degrees in philosophy or literature; and others are in a fight for social justice aiming to portray tolerance and acceptance for all.

Episode 3: Be The Girl Who Holds Fast To Truth

Welcome to the THIRD episode of the Be The Girl Podcast. This week we are focusing on living a life that holds dearly to the truth that God and His word gives us.

This can be a difficult task you know? We are constantly bombarded with what our culture and world around us tells us on a daily basis, we are impacted by our own fears and anxieties, and we have an enemy who loves to distort truth to discourage the believer going after Christ.

Navigating The Season Of "Not Yet"

I let the tears come. I woke up that morning after weeks spent, not numbing my heart, but distracting my heart.  It’s good to be present to your season, but sometimes that being present also means being present to your pain. It’s always the in between spaces that are the hardest.  The Not-Yet season.  The season in between what has been promised to us and where we are now.  Harder than the in between space itself is navigating all the vast interior landscape within it.

Success In Surrender

For those of us who fantasize of the entrepreneur lifestyle, whether that be through photography or not, our daydream might include doing what you love on a day-to-day basis, creating your own schedule, taking vacations whenever you want, building relationships with your ideal client, branding yourself on social media, and hiring your BFF when you need an extra hand. Sounds like fun, right?

Be The Girl Who Seeks Wisdom | By: Heather Craven

Growing up, my mom used to read a story about a king and his kingdom, complete with a princess and three daring young knights all hoping to win the fair maiden’s hand in marriage. One day, the prince challenged the brave knights to a quest that would reveal to his father the king, which of them was worthy of his sister's hand. The first knight was known for his strength, another for his swiftness, and the third for his wisdom.

Serving God When You Don't Believe

I still basically struggle to believe in God on a daily basis. There is a good chunk of me that is caught in the lie that says I’m crazy to believe in God, Heaven, sin, and eternity despite all the evidence. This makes treasuring God really hard sometimes. As an author once wrote of the Devil, “... so he not only speaks what is false. He hides what is true. He keeps us from seeing the treasure of the gospel. He lets us see facts, even proofs, but not preciousness.”

Drawing Near To The Heart of God

I had almost missed it. Almost missed the beat of His heart. But there it was, on the page, jumping out from the black-and-white squares with faces in each one. We sat in a circle, praying for each high school student in the yearbook. Praying for them, their daily lives, what they encounter in the halls of the school. Praying that ultimately, God would reveal Himself to them.

Serving From a Thankful [He]art

It is no coincidence that this theme has landed on the month of November. A month that is focused on giving thanks and generosity to those around us.

In order for us to understand a true and pure heart of service we must look to none other than the cross. You see the greatest example of a serving heart that this world will ever know, was done from a heart of sacrifice.

Surrender Comes From a Heart of Sacrifice

I have been there. I have been on my knees, pleading for God to take it all away. I have been in the car, radio turned off and tears streaming down my face. I have been laying in my bed, fighting to fall asleep and unable to breathe the heavy weight off my chest. I have been walking down the sidewalk, looking around and silently wondering where God is. We have all been there. We have all wondered at one time or another why surrender is so hard, difficult, and emotional. We have all thought about the freedom on the other side, but fell short because we did not know how to get there. Maybe we didn’t even want to get there. We are comfortable in our fear and restoration is a far away dream.

Don't Play Tug-Of-War

Thinking back, I never liked surrendering... because in a sense, I thought it was like giving up. But once I truly met Jesus, I realized surrendering was actually allowing me to get closer to Him. Surrendering is coming to a point where you say, “Jesus, I can’t and I won’t do this if You’re not in it. You are the only thing I want/need, and I am choosing You.”
