Rejoicing Regardless

Have you ever met those people who are just joyful? Nothing good has happened recently, no promotion, no achievements, and yet they’re still joyful. How much better would things be if we stopped looking at the severity of our situations like they’re the end of the world? What would it look like if we chose to be joyful no matter the circumstance? Instead of looking at a glass half empty, we look at if half full. This may seem super ridiculous, but I believe that we can be a generation that changes the trajectory of how our world is going. You always hear everyone say “choose joy.” It’s on shirts, coffee mugs, and journals, but what does choosing joy actually look like?

Count it Joy and Rejoice

We are able to rejoice always when we hold a deep confidence that our God is sovereign and that our lives are in his loving hands COMPLETELY. It is from this deep trust in who God is, that is only developed by meditating on his word daily and spending time in his presence, can we rejoice always. Joy in the Lord is not superficial happiness based on circumstances, but steady and certain, because the faithfulness, love, and grace of God never change.

The Search for True Joy

It’s something everyone is longing for, craving, desperately searching for, and can’t live without.

Joy. “We have it over here!” The world cries in our ears, loud enough to deafen even our own thoughts and ideas. We see the smiles and hear the laughter and tell ourselves, “This is what I’ve been looking for.” This must be joy. So we join in, slowly at first, but soon enough we’re diving head first into a life that we’ve been told will bring us joy.
