How to Relax Well this Summer

Oh, Summertime. Summer is supposed to be our savior from the sluggish tradition of school, right? You picture yourself glowing in the sun, wearing a swimsuit Audrey Hepburn would be proud to own. Your Instagram is littered with polaroid pictures of pineapples with a background of aqua waves. Perhaps Prince Harry comes splashing up out of the water to meet you! Then you vacation in Europe and spend your summer free of all work forever, Amen. Or not. Maybe your modest “swim gown” makes your grandma look flashy, your phone is an android, the neighborhood pool smells like pee, and Prince Harry is married. Maybe, you spent a whole morning stuck in traffic unable to reach your summer job. Maybe summer sucks!

3 Ways to Increase Your Productivity

Today’s just been one of those days. I got eight hours of sleep, did my makeup this morning, and even made a to-do list, but instead of being wildly productive, it feels like I’m trying to swim through peanut butter. My brain can’t seem to latch onto anything but flippant distractions, and despite this morning’s almond milk cafe au lait, I feel completely lethargic. After a wasted hour of work attempts, add a little frustration and anxiety, and you have a recipe for a hopeless afternoon. Because honestly, I really want to be dozing off in a hammock in the woods, rather than hunched over my desk snacking on carrots, no matter how interesting chemistry is.

Living With Intention, Not Perfection

I recently graduated from college and, for the past few months, I have been in a season of refinement and waiting on the Lord. Through this new season, God has been breaking down old habits that were formed throughout my college years. Although I am extremely thankful for that time in my life, it was during that season when I began to live my life by way of survival. I would live day by day, just hoping that I could get through it. Stressed and overwhelmed by all that life was throwing at me, I felt trapped and believed that there was nothing that I could do to calm the chaos.
